TL;DR: We don't collect your personal data. All your starter data stays on your device. Optional cloud backup stores data in your own iCloud or Google Drive — we never have access to it.

Data Storage

Sourdough Starter Tracker stores all data locally on your device using a SQLite database. We do not operate any servers that store your data.

What stays on your device

  • Starter profiles and feeding history
  • Bake logs and photos
  • Reminder settings and preferences
  • All app settings and customizations

Cloud Backup (Optional, Premium)

Premium users can back up their data to their own iCloud (iOS) or Google Drive (Android). This data is stored in your personal cloud account — we do not have access to it. On Android, Google Sign-In is required to access your Google Drive. You can delete your backup data at any time from your iCloud or Google Drive settings.

Location Data

The app may request your location to provide local weather data for baking recommendations. Location data is sent to Open-Meteo (a free weather API) and is not stored or tracked by us.

Third-Party Services

Google AdMob & Unity Ads: We display ads through Google AdMob and Unity Ads. You can remove ads with a Premium purchase ($9.99 one-time) or Remove Ads ($1.99 one-time). These services may collect device advertising IDs and usage data according to their respective privacy policies.

Firebase Analytics: We use Firebase Analytics to understand general app usage patterns (e.g., which features are most used). This data is anonymous and cannot identify individual users.

RevenueCat: In-app purchases are managed through RevenueCat, which may collect anonymous purchase and device data to process transactions.

No Account Required

You never need to create an account to use the app. Core features (feeding logs, reminders, health checks) work completely offline. Some features like cloud backup, weather data, and ads require an internet connection.

Data Deletion

Uninstalling the app removes all local data. If you used cloud backup, your backup data remains in your personal iCloud or Google Drive until you delete it manually. We have no data on our servers to delete.
