Frequently Asked Questions
How do I start a new batch?
Tap "New Batch" on the Brews tab. Name it, pick your culture, and set the start date — tea type and vessel size are optional. The timer starts as soon as you tap "Start Brewing".
Can I brew jun or water kefir, not just kombucha?
Yes. Pick the culture when you start a batch and the expected timings move with it — water kefir finishes F1 in 1–2 days, not 7–14. You can also type your own culture name.
What's the difference between F1 and F2?
F1 (First Fermentation): Primary fermentation with SCOBY, usually 7-14 days. F2 (Second Fermentation): Bottled with flavors for carbonation, usually 2-4 days.
How do I add F2 flavors?
When moving a batch to F2, you can add flavor combinations. Log the fruits, herbs, or juices you added.
What do batch statuses mean?
Active: Currently fermenting. F2: Second fermentation in bottles. Complete: Finished and ready to drink.
Can I record temperature, pH, or Brix?
Yes, on any log. Decimals work with either a comma or a period — 6,5 and 6.5 are both read correctly.
Why can't I add a photo to a log?
Photo logs are a Pro feature. If you have Pro and the picker does not open, update to version 1.1.2 — an earlier build asked for a photo permission it never needed and stopped there.
Does the app work offline?
Yes, core features work fully offline. Ads and in-app purchases require an internet connection.
