Frequently Asked Questions

What is IEP Binder for?
IEP Binder helps parents organize school notes, services, goals, messages, evidence, documents, and meeting questions before an IEP or 504 meeting.
Does the app give legal or educational advice?
No. IEP Binder is an organization and meeting preparation tool. AI drafts and pattern candidates are based on records you save and should not be treated as legal, medical, educational, or diagnostic advice.
How does AI capture work?
You describe what happened in plain language. The app turns that text into editable draft records, and nothing is saved until you review the draft.
Can I edit AI drafts?
Yes. AI-generated notes, summaries, and meeting packet sections are drafts. You can review and edit them before saving, exporting, or sharing.
What happens if I hide a binder section?
Hiding a section removes it from your current binder view, but it does not delete the records. If you restore that section later, the saved records can appear again.
Can I import PDFs or photos?
Yes. You can import PDFs and photos, and the app can help extract or summarize school document content into editable drafts.
What is a meeting packet?
A meeting packet is a draft summary built from records you choose. It can include parent concerns, record-based pattern candidates, questions to ask, suggested meeting asks, and supporting records.
What is included in IEP Binder Plus?
IEP Binder Plus unlocks higher-use AI workflows, full meeting packet support, PDF export, document analysis, custom binder tools, and backup-related tools when available.
Where is my data stored?
Your binder records are stored on your device by default. AI features send only the content you choose to submit for drafting or summarizing.
