9 Habits That Block Your Happiness – Get Rid Of Them And Be Truly Happy!
Everyone is in pursuit of happiness – that is something we all look for and strive for in our everyday lives.
But these are some habits that we all have that are blocking us from being truly happy. Things that we don’t realize that affect the happiness in our lives and that prevent us from achieving what we search for every day.
If you get rid of these energy sucking habits, you will notice that your overall mood and your happiness in your life will increase.
Complaining is such a negative and energy sucking habit. The more you complain about whatever it is, the more it affects your mood and fills you with negative and angry emotions. Try to be more positive and remember – “If you can’t say anything nice, then don’t say anything at all”.
2. Negative self talk
Negative self talk is no good. It makes you not like yourself and it makes you be unhappy with your own self. Everyone knows their own flaws but not everyone accepts them. Remember that everyone is perfect the way they are, flaws and all. So why don’t you try writing down and figuring out your good qualities and be proud of what you are!
3. Poor physical habits
If you don’t care much about your health, your body will suffer; therefore, you won’t be happy if you feel ill and not well at all times. Remember that a healthy body is needed for a healthy mind. If you have any bad habits like drinking, smoking or drug use, it is important to get rid of them! Also, remember that it is proven that working out boosts your mood and puts you in a good mood very quick. Even a quick 10 minute workout a day can do wonders for both your body and your mood.

4. Being trapped by your own fears
Everyone fears something, that is very normal. But if you go around constantly living in fear of whatever it is that is haunting you, you will never be happy. If you need help, try talking to someone. Try to get rid of your fears or at least don’t let them control you as much.

Remember that who you surround yourself with is who you will become. Try to be around ambitions driven people, people who are positive and have good habits. If you are hanging out with destructive and negative people, happiness is not something that you will reach.

If you live your life on auto-pilot, or like a programmed robot, you will never experience any feelings at all. If you get up, get ready, go to work, come home, eat dinner, go to bed and do all of that on repeat, you will never reach true happiness. Add different things to your daily schedule and get out of your comfort zone. If you have nothing going on in your life except your regular daily activities, you won’t experience fun, enthusiasm and joy.
7. Being too busy
If you are always so busy, only focused on work, you will miss out on a lot in your life and if you are too busy for happiness, then you will never have that. We understand life is busy and sometimes it can get too busy, but try to make at least a little bit of time for yourself and to do the things that you enjoy.
8. Holding onto the past
The past needs to be left in the past. The only thing you need to focus on now is the present and the future. If you are holding onto the past, may it be relationships, people or things, you will never be able to be happy. Learn to let go and to appreciate what you have.
9. Censoring your self-expression
Say what you want and when you want! If you have something to say, make sure you do it. It will definitely make you happy, no matter what it is. We don’t recommend going around and burning bridges with people but don’t stay quiet only because people expect you to.
