7 Days Happiness Challenge – Feel Your Happiness Levels Significantly Increase!

I am not saying that this is for people who are not happy; in fact, this is just for about anyone!

Sometimes, when we step out of our comfort zones and do other things than just doing what we regularly do on a daily basis, it can significantly increase our happiness level, fill us with joy and put us in a much better mood!

In this article, I present you 20 different things and actions, and I challenge you to pick 7 of them and do a different one every day for 7 days. Or, pick 14 and do 2 different ones for 7 days straight.

I promise you that every day, once you do the part of the challenge you choose, it will bring a smile on your face and make you feel instantly happier. And at the end of the week, you will definitely feel different, in a better way.

I know some of you might read this and won’t think twice about it, but once you actually do these random things in your day, trust that these little actions will change your life big time!

1. High-five a random person

Trust me, this will definitely boost your mood. And not just yours, but it will bring a smile on the stranger’s face as well. They won’t expect it, but they will most likely high-five you back.

2. Buy a new houseplant

Adding some greenery to your house is always a good thing. Plant a new flower in your garden or buy a new plant for your living room.

3. Dress up for no reason and get out of the house

Even if you decide to dress up and go grocery shopping, or simply shopping to upgrade you wardrobe.. whatever you decide to do, dress up and go do it. Even if it is running errands. Has looking good ever influenced someone’s mood in a bad and negative way? Umm, I don’t think so.

4. Buy flowers for your best friend/partner/parent

Whichever one of the close people in your life you decide to surprise with a bouquet of flowers will definitely make their day and bring a smile on their face. Bringing happiness to others will bring happiness to you too.

5. Give your house a makeover 

I’m not suggesting paint the walls and buy new living room furniture. But every once in a while, people get “tired” of their homes and want to move things around. Rearrange the furniture of your living room, or buy new pillows for your bed. Make a change that you have wanted to do for a while but you still haven’t done.

6. Get a haircut

Getting a haircut and getting your hair done will definitely make you feel fresh and good!

7. Call your mom or dad/grandparents, just because

Give your parents or grandparents a call, simply to ask them about their day, tell them you love them and just talk to them. Parents and grandparents always love to hear from us and it makes their day when you call. Make sure to spend 10-15 minutes, and it will definitely make you feel better to hear their voice, and for them to hear yours too.

8. Go for a run

Even if you haven’t been working out in a while. Make sure to go for at least a 15 minute jog. Exercising is scientifically proven to boost your mood.

9. FaceTime an old friend 

Choose a good friend that even though you two haven’t talked in a while, they will definitely be glad to see you and you will be glad to see them. Choose someone that you have been meaning to catch up with for some time now, but you never seem to find the time. Video call them and watch them smile when they see you.

10. Listen to the radio

Spend the whole day with the radio on. Music is something that can for sure boost your mood. Choose a station and let it play all day long. Watch yourself sing along and be surprised with songs that you haven’t heard in a while.

11. Take a day off from work to do something you enjoy or do nothing at all

If possible, try to take a day off and just stay at home and do nothing all day. Or if there is something you want to do, spend your day off doing that.

12. Send a postcard to a friend that lives far

Tell them you miss them and you wish you were with them. They will be pleasantly surprised to hear from you.

13. Do a random act of kindness 

Go to a coffee shop and pay for 1 or 2 cups of coffee for whoever comes next. Or buy a meal for a homeless person. Pick a random act of kindness of your choosing and do that.

14. Do something touristy in your own town

Grab your best friend or whoever you want and act as a tourist in your own town. Visit a museum or go sightseeing.

15. Put together a puzzle

Get a puzzle and grab a couple friends or just do it yourself. Put the puzzle together.

16. Eat a fancy dinner at a restaurant

Choose a fancy restaurant that you have always wanted to try out and go have a fancy meal. You will definitely enjoy this one.

Or if you budget is tight, pick a recipe you have always wanted to try out and prepare that.

17. Write a positive online review for your favorite restaurant

It will definitely mean a lot to the restaurant, and doing such a nice and kind thing will instantly improve your mood.

18. Go to the Zoo

Visit the local zoo. Feed the animals and just look around for a couple hours.

19. Compliment a stranger

Making someone else’s day will always make your day.

20. Write a letter for your future self

This letter can also include goals and things you want to achieve by the time your future self will open this letter.
